Battery & Charging Map – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Battery & Charging Map ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application Battery & Charging Map ("the App").

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: If you sign up with email and password, we receive your email address to create and manage your account. You may also browse the App without signing in.
• Usage Data: Charging reports you submit (charge time, speed, availability, connector type, comments) to help other users find reliable EV charging stations.
• Device Information: Device type and OS version, used for analytics and error reporting via Sentry.
• Analytics Data: Anonymous usage statistics collected via Firebase Analytics to improve the App.
• Advertising Identifiers: Used by Google AdMob to serve relevant advertisements (with your permission via App Tracking Transparency).

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the App, including displaying charging station information and user reports.
• To authenticate your account.
• To send local notification reminders (configurable in settings).
• To display advertisements via Google AdMob.
• To diagnose and fix technical issues via Sentry crash reporting.
• To analyze usage patterns and improve features via Firebase Analytics.

3. Location

The App may request access to your device location to show nearby charging stations. Location data is used only on-device and is not uploaded to our servers.

4. Notifications

The App may send local notifications as daily reminders. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following third-party service providers:

• Google AdMob: For advertising. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Firebase (Google): For analytics and authentication. See Firebase Privacy.
• Sentry: For crash reporting. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.

6. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the App (My Reports > Delete Account). Upon deletion, all your account data and submitted reports will be permanently removed from our servers.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained until you delete your account. Analytics and crash data are retained according to our service providers' policies.

8. Your Rights

You may opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device's privacy settings or by responding to the App Tracking Transparency prompt. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us or using the in-app delete account feature.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date above.
