Grumble - Privacy Policy

      Key Point: Grumble is completely anonymous. We do not collect any personal information. No account, no email, no name required.
    

1. Information We Collect

Grumble collects the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

Rant content — the text you write and choose to post
Device ID — a randomly generated UUID stored on your device. This is used solely to attribute your rants and reactions to your device. It is never linked to your real identity.
Category — the topic category you select when posting (e.g., Work, Life, Money)
Reactions — the reactions you give to others' rants (stored with your device ID only)

We do not collect: name, email, phone number, location, IP address (beyond standard server logs), or any identifying information.

2. How We Use Your Information

Display your rants in the community feed
Allow you to delete your own rants (verified by device ID)
Track reactions and report counts per rant
Enforce rate limits to prevent spam (5 rants per hour per device)

We never sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Advertising

Grumble displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain device information to serve relevant ads. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings.

4. Content Moderation

Rants that receive 5 or more reports are automatically hidden from the public feed. This is done to maintain a safe community environment. Reported content is reviewed and may be permanently removed.

5. Data Sharing

Your rant content is shared publicly in the community feed. No personally identifiable information is ever attached to your posts. Other users see only your rant text, category, and reactions — never your identity.

6. Data Retention

Your rants are stored on our servers until you delete them. You can delete your own rants at any time within the app. For data deletion requests, contact us with your device ID (accessible from the app settings).

7. Children's Privacy

Grumble is not directed at children under 13. Due to the nature of user-generated content, the app is intended for users aged 17 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission. Server infrastructure is secured with industry-standard practices. No payment information is collected or stored.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
