1. Information We Collect

RoastMe collects the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

• Device ID — a randomly generated UUID stored on your device. This is used solely to attribute your posts to your device. It is never linked to your real identity.
• Photos — images you upload for others to roast. These are stored on our servers to display in the app.
• Roast text — the text comments you write in response to others' photos.
• Reactions — votes and reactions you give to roasts (stored with your device ID only).

We do not collect: name, email, phone number, location, IP address (beyond standard server logs), or any identifying information.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Display your photos and roasts in the community feed
• Allow you to delete your own content (verified by device ID)
• Track reactions and report counts per post
• Enforce rate limits to prevent spam

We never sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Advertising

RoastMe displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain device information to serve relevant ads. On iOS, we request your permission via App Tracking Transparency (ATT) before any tracking occurs. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings.

4. Analytics and Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage patterns (e.g., which screens are visited most). We also use Sentry to collect crash reports and errors to improve app stability. Both services collect anonymous, non-personally-identifiable technical data such as device type, OS version, and app version.

5. Content Moderation

Posts that receive multiple reports are automatically hidden from the public feed. This is done to maintain a safe community environment. Reported content is reviewed and may be permanently removed.

6. Data Sharing

Your photos and roast text are shared publicly in the community feed. No personally identifiable information is ever attached to your posts. Other users see only your content and reactions — never your identity.

7. Data Retention

Your photos and roasts are stored on our servers until you delete them. You can delete your own content at any time within the app. For data deletion requests, contact us with your device ID (accessible from the app settings).

8. Children's Privacy

RoastMe is not directed at children under 13. Due to the nature of user-generated content, the app is intended for users aged 17 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission. Server infrastructure is secured with industry-standard practices. No payment information is collected or stored.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
